firefighters cutting through metal with chainsawFor over 40 years Rapco has been recognized as the leading supplier for carbide tipped chainsaw chains, Rapco Industries manufactures saw chains for typical and specialty cutting applications. Many thousands of customers use our chainsaw chains worldwide in over 66 countries, making it the most widely used product of its type on the market. If your looking for the best chainsaw chains you’re at the right place.

Firefighters Use Our Chains

Whether you are dealing with extreme cutting conditions such as fire department roof ventilation, or lighter duty applications such as firewood cutting, stump removal and ripping, Rapco Industries manufactures chainsaw chains designed specifically or can design a carbide chain for your needs. Rapco manufactures two familiar styles of chainsaw chain cutting teeth, the chisel and the chamfer. We also manufacture two specialty chainsaw cutting teeth the Dragon and the Terminator. Each of the four styles of cutting teeth can be ground with an efficient round grind for cutting efficiency or with a flat grind for the best impact resistance when encountering applications requiring impact resistance.

Rapco also offers two superior grades of carbide on our chains, one for impact resistance and one for cutting edge endurance. This allows our carbide chainsaw chains to stay sharper, up to 25 times longer than  standard steel chainsaw chains.

We are the only company in the world to manufacture multiple saw chain designs and configurations of all the standard pitches and gauges of carbide chainsaw chains. This allows us to fit most chainsaws with a carbide chain that can be customized to your unique cutting requirements and conditions.

Saw Chain Types Explained

chainsaw typesWho knew saws could be so complex? It turns out that not all saw chain types are equal. For example, carbide tipped saw chains can tackle tougher jobs that regular saw chains simply cannot handle. But what sets these saw chain types apart? Each type includes crucial configurations like chain gauge, pitch, cutting teeth sequence, length, style, and material–all of which must match up perfectly for the saw chain to have optimum performance. No matter what type of sawing job you’re taking on–from a simple home improvement project to a more challenging backyard forestry job–make sure you understand the different saw chain types before you start!

Which Saw Chain Type to Choose?

Choosing the right saw chain type for your sawing needs is essential for a successful sawing job! The first thing is to match the pitch, gauge & drive link count to fit your saw. Larger saw chains generally have larger pitches, and they’re better-suited to tougher jobs that a standard saw chain may not be able to handle. Go the extra mile and opt for carbide tipped saw chains – this type can saw through mud, soil, frozen wood, some metals, and so much more! Plus, you know it’s up to any professional application you can throw its way.

How Strong is a Carbide Tipped Chain?

Carbide tipped chains are the way to go when you need a hard-hitting solution! Not only will they stay sharper up to 25 times longer than most other types, but their superior hardness can easily cut through ice, tree roots, and even nails. Plus with less sharpening needed compared to regular chains, it’s almost like having an investment in your saw. The only downside is they are more expensive. However, if you look at the overall investment they last, can be re-sharpened, and their cutting teeth can be repurposed into a new chain.

“I definitely love these chains never again will I go back to a regular chain”

Robert

“You have a fantastic product.  We have to cut out massive root systems out below ground level (and blind).  Your chain is doing the trick, cutting our labor way down.  We’ve been running it almost a year, with great results.  It finally needs sharpened, but has held up extremely well in adverse conditions.  I was concerned the connecting links may be an issue, but we have had no problem.  We’ll be purchasing another.  Thanks for the customer support as well.”

John B.

“Your chains are AWESOME!  I purchased two in 2014 and have been cutting drought killed timer ever since.  Standard steel chains were only lasting about 15 minutes!”

Joel S.

“Your chain cut like butter for a long time, and I have never bought a carbide chain even close to as good as your since.  I sent it back to be resharpened and you said it was completely worn out.  I bought cheaper chains after that, and life has never been the same.  I cut mainly wood but I do occasionally tough the dirt which is deadly to a non-carbide chain”

Gary

“I’ve had such great results with the blade I ordered last year that I’d like to order two more, one as a backup and one as a gift for a friend. I got to tell you; these are great blades. The first one I ordered doesn’t even need to be sharpened yet, it’s still plowing through junipers like a champ. After the dozens of trees, I’ve disassembled with this blade, it has lost the ridiculously sharp razor edge it had out of the box, but it’s still sharper than any steel blade I’ve ever used. Even if it had only lasted this long before totally falling to pieces, it still would have been worth twice the price, but it’s still going strong. I have a feeling that I’ll be a life-long customer.”

Paul D.

“I wanted to let you know how happy I am with my recently purchased carbide tipped chainsaw chain. What a surprise it was to me to have it work the way it does. When trying to cut wood with dirt on it, I had to sharpen my old chain 4 times. I was not getting much wood cut. After putting your carbide tipped chain on my Husqvarna saw, I finished cutting the wood in 15 minutes. It was so easy, I just let the saw do the work with no pushing and it went through the wood fast. I’ve been cutting wood for 50 years and never have I had a chain saw that cut like that.

Thank you so much for your great product!”

Ken P. – Pittsfield NH

“I bought 2 of these chains in January 2013, they have cut in half or better the time it takes us to cut hard wood. What used to take us two and a half hours now only takes forty five minutes. These chains are worth the money!”

James D. Plains, TX

“I have been very pleased with the results of having this carbide chainsaw chain on my saw, even now that it’s due for sharpening and service, it was still cutting like a hot knife thru butter.”

Gordon J. Anchorage, AK

“I recently ordered one of your carbide chains for a 16″ Homelite that I have used for about 15 years replacing the standard chain many times. I have never enjoyed such performance trimming mesquite limbs on our ranch. It seems to cut through a 5″ limb in about one third the time. Rick was most helpful in helping me to choose the correct specifications for my application. Kudos to him and your company.”

Dennis K. Tucson, AZ

“The Rapco carbide tip chain saw blade is a must! My previous stock metal blade initially lasted 20 minutes, then 2 minutes after sharpening, then 15 seconds after second sharpening, and finally 20 seconds after pro-sharpening. Gave up on that one. Rapco’s carbide blade after 120 minutes is still going strong and so far has lasted 360 times longer than my last pro-sharpening and counting. Well worth the investment in money and value of loss of time and frustration…”
